The neighbors again...
So, I called the city. After numerous phone calls, it was decided that the Animal Cruelty Investigations should be called and the police.
Well we didn't here back from ACI, but the police did come out and talked to the neighbors. 5 minutes later, they were out picking them up.
I don't give a fiddlers F. Don't go around trying to poison animals.

I am so bored today....
I've gone through the speil of forums. I'm still missing Paws. I wonder what happened. I've played on pogo. I'm getting bored with that too.
It's a cloudy, chilly day, so even going outside is pretty dull.
I'm hungry, but too lazy to make myself something to eat.
Did I mention, I haven't even been up for three hours yet. Cripes. I slept in until almost noon. I never do that. My back is aching from staying in bed so long.
I even tried studying for a bit. Blech. I better get my ass in gear with this. This is going to be a bad course.
I'm still waiting for my Finance marks to come back. I hope to hell I passed it. I really don't want to re-write it.
I could do some ab exercises. We are going to the gym tonight. Hopefully that will get me out of my funk.

The neighbors..
Where to begin...(Oh I'll just rhyme them off as I think of them)
** George decided to get mad at Luc because a tree on city property but in front of our house is Luc's responsibility. And because a branch was banging him in the head when he went to get in and out of his car, Luc should cut it down.
** They had no problem telling us our house looked like shit before it was sided, but proceeded to get into a yelling match with Luc because we neglected to tell them we were going to side the house, and that the siders were going to be working on the side of the house that's next to theirs. Day 3 mind you. I don't think it would have taken a physics degree to figure out the siders were going to be there.
** Then we got the excessive barking complaint.
** Then we got tattled on because we sided the house. We didn't need a permit to side it because it was under $5000 but the neighbors had to make sure to let the city know, so we could rightly pay our taxes.
** Then there's the dog poop complaint. Have to clean it up everyday. Can't clean it up once a week.
** They don't like the dog to begin with. "You training it to be a guard dog?" "NO, she just doesn't like you, can you blame her?"

What an ass-kicking...
We went to the gym for our second orientation session. HA! I thought it was circuit, but it turned out to be cardio. Not a big oops, but oh well.
What a great session. We learned how to use the cardio equipment, and got an ass-kicking in the process.
I can guarantee that if I ever decide to pay for a personal trainer, I'm going with Trevor. That will definitely be worth the $50 an hour. He's a great motivator. He's upbeat. Our first session was with Paul, and there was a definite difference in attitude. Paul was sort of here's the equipment, here's how to use it, now off you go. Trevor pushed us to go the extra bit.
Anyway, Trevor is teaching the circuit / abs training tonight. 1 1/2 hours. Luc might not be able to go, but I'd like to. The circuit and the abs are my high priority, so I'd like to get a good head start by getting a good trainer.
Why do people have to be the way they are...?
One of the members has been collecting donations for Christmas Daddies. Selling scarves that she's made, selling cookies, collecting Canadian Tire money. Over the weekend she won a bar fridge that she was planning on selling tickets on. A bar fridge. A $650 value and she is donating it to the club.
I don't know how it started, but one of the other members for whatever reason, jealousy or just plain bitchiness, decides she's going to cause a stink about it. During breakfast no less. "Things like this should go through the executive" "You should be getting permission to do these things" "They should be voted on" etc, etc, etc.
V got pretty upset about it. Visibly upset. And to make matters worse, they kept on harping on it some more.
Well, here is what I have to say about it.
*If I want to give money to V as a donation, I will.
*If you came to breakfast every Sunday like the rest of us do, you'd see that what V is doing is a good thing.
*Breakfast was definitely not the time or place to bring it up in the first place.
*And to keep harping on it after you've made V cry is just plain bitchiness, so fuck off.

Went to the gym...
I'm a little achey this morning, moreso from the bike ride than from the weights. I can feel the muscles from the weights but it's not too bad.
Luc said he'd like to try the eliptical machines, so maybe I can convince him to go back tonight.
My heartrate was a little high on the bike. It hovered around 150 or so. I tried to slow down, but to get it down to where I think it should be, I literally would have been standing still. I'll have to keep an eye on it, and try and find some information on targets and some such.
I've also started using www.getfusionfit.com I joined a little while ago, but I'm actually starting to use it now. We'll have to see how it goes.

Here I go again
Our first orientation session is tonight. I think it's weights or something. Hopefully we'll get some sort of workout out of it. I would be really pissed if we have to do these 5 orientation sessions for an hour each, and we don't get anything out of it, except words.
Here are some websites that I am using

Well, that lasted long...
Here's my list to not smoke...
1. More money
2. House doesn't stink
3. Don't wake up in the morning coughing, hacking and gagging
4. Sinus problem making it hard to breathe
5. Not able to go places because I can't smoke
6. The cough
7. The diarhea
8. The runny nose
9. The chest pain
10.The wheeze
CRAP!
I'll have to try again.
I haven't smoked at work today. Cutting down would be good. I'd like to be able to not smoke at work.
There is still one or two cigs left in the package at home. I'll have to wait and decide what to do when they are gone.

Not Smoking... Day 2
I have not had a cigarette in One day, 13 hours, 8 minutes and 52 seconds. 38 cigarettes not smoked, saving $14.61. Life saved: 3 hours, 10 minutes.
NOPE > Not One Puff Ever
The Junkie had a smoke on Mar 28 9pm
I found a very helpful website for quitting
http://quitsmoking.about.com/
There is a lot of great information. I feel so much better about quitting now that I found that website.
I need to write a Dear John letter soon. Probably sooner than later.
I need to write a Why I don't want to smoke list.
TJ had a smoke last night. She knew the computer was bad news, doing Luc's plotter work. That is going to be a tough one for her to beat.

Smoking
I have the shakes, I have a headache, I'm ready to cry at a given moment.
This is the one thing that I can't break free from. This quote came from the Health Canada website. Nobody understands this. To actually see this quote on the website is almost comforting. Somebody does understand this. Most people who smoke think of their cigarettes as good friends who support
them through thick and thin.
I am using the Nicorette Inhaler, but it makes me cough and gag. Blech. I don't like the patch, because of the continuous nicotine flow. I don't like the gum, because you have to hold it in your mouth for so long. Rick quit using the lozenges. He said they worked well, but they don't sell those in Canada.
The siding is done.

The siding is finally done, but it isn't a well done job. We are quite disappointed by with the "flaws" in the workmanship. All that's left to do to the outside of the house is to fix the front deck, a rail and deckboards. I'd like to put some shutters on the front window. And Luc's going to put a little deck that wraps around the side of the house from the back door.
The inside of the house is a different story. It will take 15 years to fix the inside up for sure.

Latest ramblings

I don't want to say it out loud, but I think spring is here. It's a balmy 5 degrees. Sunny. Whatever snow is left is melting. Dog poop is starting to smell. The ground is getting soft and mucky. I've heard people saying that flowers are starting to bloom. I've heard radio rumours of people wearing shorts. Spring coats are out. We're back to the cold mornings and warm afternoons. It's great. I hope it sticks around. No more cold snaps.
On to other news. I wrote my finance exam last night. Talk about stress. Two hours of constant writing is very stressing on the brain. So much so, that I was awakened numerous times throughout the night from dreams of interest rates and stock prices and dividends. Crazy stuff. I don't really remember the gist of the dreams themselves, just that they were finance related.
Wheeee Siding
We are getting siding put on the house. Does it ever make a huge difference in the look. We're going to be the prettiest house on the street. Oh and according to the guy on the scaffolding, it's being put one by the cutest guys on the street **groan**
But I do have to say, they are certainly making a mess of the yard though. I hope they clean it up.

Pretty cool.
July 24 - 28 at the home away from home.
I'll have to make a list of stuff for Luc to do. He can barely stand a couple of hours of watching TV. He'll probably go half insane if he doesn't have anything to do.
Our home away from home
Just a little note.
www.tldirectory.com
There's a lot of friendly people there, and as far as a forum goes. Holy cow. There's a lot going on. It's a pretty busy spot.

I've been so busy bitching about things, I thought I would make a happy post. Sad, sad, sad. I can't think of anything happy to write about.
It's not that I'm not happy, or sad, I guess right now, I'm on an even keel.
I don't think the job prospect is going to pan out, so off to the next one. I haven't been officially turned down, but, I think it's pretty obvious. They call within an hour of submitting my resume to set up an interview, they call within a couple of hours within the interview to offer me the position, they email within a couple of hours with questions regarding my negotiated offer, and I haven't heard a thing back. That was two days ago.
Well, that's fine really, I could see the potential in the position, but they really weren't interested in paying someone with over ten years experience what they are worth. Their loss I guess.

I'm waiting to hear back about a job offer I have been negotiating for the last couple of days. I can't take the offer at the base they offered me, there's about $10,000 in the difference. I wouldn't even be considering this offer in the first place, but my current job is driving me to drink. Literally. I can not take this place anymore. People really need to mind their own business. Some people need to realize they don't know everything. Some people need to realize that they don't run this company.

Do people know how stupid they sound when they call an unknown number and say "Your number was on my phone?" They have no idea who they are calling, and in their self important glory think that noone could ever possibly get a wrong number. If the number is there, someone definitely wants to talk to them.
I just LOVE it (That's sarcasm by the way) when someone does that at work. Honest to God, what do people think. There's a hundred people working here and what 50 phones. "Yea, honey, I know exactly who called you." And they just do NOT understand the concept. "Well, can you find out." "Hell. NO."
